I'm a million different people from one day to the next...

Creativity has always been part of my life,  my first published and paid work was at the age of seven when I sent a drawing of 'me and my dog' to the newspaper, unbeknown to my parents. My first painting was not long after that and currently resides at my ex-partner's house with others still on the walls at my mother's house.

Art has always been a form of personal expression: a diary of the thoughts and feelings  I process at any given the time. It is a unique style that has developed over time through my love of hip-hop culture, personal expression, the work of my idols and hours upon hours in the studio. Formal training has also played a large role in my style.

Influenced heavily by pop art, street art, political art and feminist art. my style appears simple yet the message is complex and aims to challenge the mind and societal messaging that has formed our way of knowing.

My creative expression comes in many forms including poetry, digital art, video, fashion, design, collage, yet my preferred media is painting often using acrylic paints, poscas, solid markers, spray paint and of course starting it all off with a drawing.

A major focus of the bodies of work I do is expressing the thoughts and feelings I am experiencing over a period of time. My mind is the subject matter and much work is self-portraits; physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. There are no landscapes here. It is controversial, it is bold, heavily textured, layered, it challenges societal narratives and norms, it is biographical. Today the message has become a central focus, it jolts and it is not always what it first appears to be.

My work will start off with an idea of how to visualise my thinking, this idea will marinate for a period of time in my mind. As creative thoughts swim through by heart and mind, I will begin to get inspired by various things around me including songs, newspaper articles, and real-life experiences. Then, the pencil hits the paper and the drawings come to life on canvas. This process can take a few months or a few years, it all depends on my abstract vision, what I want to express and of course expressing it in a visual way that I am happy with.

I currently reside in the Byron Bay Hinterland, my home of 20 years.
